What is Migrant Education?

 

Migrant children have educational needs that are different from those of other children. When migrant children move with their families, their education as well as their life is disrupted. The Migrant Education Program strives to provide services and materials to help migrant children succeed in school. They can earn a diploma, develop their skills, and expand their options for the future.

Que es el Programa de Educacion Migrante?
Los niÒos migrantes tienen necesidades educacionales que son diferentes de otros niÒos. Cuando un niÒo migrante se muda con su familia, su educaciÛnóigual que su vidaóes interrumpida. El Programa de EducaciÛn Migrante se esfuerza para proporcionar servicios y los materiales para ayudar a niÒos migrantes a tener Èxito en la escuela. Pueden adquirir un diploma de preparatoria, desarrollar sus habilidades, y/o expander sus opciones para su futuro.

What Makes A Child Eligible?
Children and youth who are younger than 22 and have not yet earned a high school diploma. Parents, guardians, or youth work in temporary or seasonal agricultural or fishing employment, including meat packing plants. Families who have moved to Omaha in the last three years.

¿Que Hace Elegible a un Niño?
Niños y jóvenes menores de 22 que no tienen un diploma de la preparatoria. Los padres/tutores o jóvenes trabajan en el campo de la agricultura o de la pesca y es un trabajo temporal o de temporada, incluyendo empacadoras de carne. Ha vivido en Omaha menos de tres años.
