The Beta Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. conducts an annual High School Essay Contest in conjunction with its mandated program - Achievement Week.  Achievement Week is observed each November and is designed to recognize those individuals at the local and international levels who have contributed to community uplift.

Congratulations to the Central HS boys basketball team! The Eagles just won the annual Metro Holiday Tournament -- extending their streak of consecutive tournament titles to three. (Only one other team in the history of this event has achieved the same feat.) Three of the final four teams in the tournament were from OPS, with Benson and South joining Central in the semifinal round.

Belvedere Elementary student council members present a check to Habitat for Humanity representative Aly Eveland following a fundraiser in December. During "Nickels for Nails," students and staff donated loose change for a month, collecting a total of $476.
