In response to the enactment of LB 1103 this past legislative session, the Education Committee of the Nebraska Legislature is developing a common statewide vision for education in Nebraska. The vision will eventually consist of "aspirational goals, visionary objectives, meaningful priorities, and practical strategies," and will help current and future policy makers identify priorities.

As a first step, the Committee has identified the following initial vision, mission, and goals. We are conducting a public survey of this initial draft in order to receive your feedback.

The Omaha Public Schools will offer its Summer Meals Program at various schools across the district.  Serving times will be: Breakfast - 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and Lunch - Noon to 12:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.  All sites will be closed on July 4, 2014.

The Benson JROTC cadre has officially reached its fundraising goal for a long-planned trip to Normandy, France, for the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
