Yates Early Childhood Center Hosts Family Literacy Event

Yates Early Childhood students and their families took part in family literacy activities led by UNO's early education teacher candidates as part of a P-16 Service Learning project. The activities centered around the children's book "Each Peach Pear Plum," by Allan and Janet Ahlberg. Children had the opportunity to retell nursery rhymes with props, see a puppet show of "The Three Bears," and then create their own pretend peach, pear and plum pies. Each child also received a copy of the book to take home, thanks to the Pearson Education Foundation.
