Belvedere Elementary

Christy Boulos-Storm, APRN, FNP-BC

Ms. Boulos-Storm earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Chemistry from California State University Long Beach in 2005. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2007 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2011 at Creighton University. She is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Creighton University. Ms. Boulos-Storm is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked at Belvedere Elementary through Charles Drew Community Health Center since the Fall of 2011. Ms. Boulos-Storm says that the reason she likes working at the SBHCs is because she loves educating and working with kids. Her hobbies include party planning, crafts, and sports. One fascinating fact about Ms. Boulos-Storm is that “I was born and raised in southern California and I am Egyptian.”

Juanita Watson, CMA

Ms. Watson earned her Medical Assistant degree from Methodist College in Omaha, NE and has worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for over 11 years. She has been employed with Charles Drew Community Health Center since 2007 and has been working at Belvedere Elementary since 2011. She enjoys working at the SBHCs because she likes working with the kids and seeing them come in with smiles on their faces. She also enjoys working with other staff members. Ms. Watson’s hobbies include sewing, learning how to knit, and cake decorating. She is a “first time grandmother and loving every bit of it.”

Bryan High School

Julie Klahn, MSN, FNP, WHNP, APRN

Ms. Klahn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Klahn is employed with OneWorld Community Health Centers and has worked at Indian Hill and Spring Lake since October 2011. The reason that working at the SBHCs is important to Ms. Klahn is because she “enjoys the opportunity to practice primary care in the setting where children, youth and their siblings spend one third of their day.” Ms. Klahn also enjoys spending time with her own children, reading, sewing, and walking. One interesting fact about her is that she was a school nurse for the Omaha Public Schools.

Indian Hill Elementary

Mary K. Meagher, APRN, CPNP, CFNP

Ms. Meagher earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Marillac College in St. Louis, Missouri in 1963.   She completed her Master of Science in Nursing Degree at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois in 1969. She also completed a Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 1977 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Ms. Meagher is certified with the American Nurses Certification Center (ANCC) as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Meagher has been employed with OneWorld Community Health Centers since 2012 in which she has worked at Indian Hill. Ms. Meagher enjoys working at the SBHCs because it is a “new, innovative program” and it is “in sync with the mission of OneWorld Community Health Centers.” Ms. Meagher’s hobbies include sports, reading, service projects / volunteerism, and traveling.

Nora Palomino, MA

Ms. Palomino earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Vatterott College. She has been employed at OneWorld Community Health Centers since May 2013 and works at the Indian Hill School-Based Health Center as a Medical Assistant. Ms. Palomino likes working at the SBHC because she enjoys helping kids and their families regardless of health insurance or ability to pay. In her spare time she enjoys hobbies such as: bike rides, fishing with her children, and watching boxing with her husband. Ms. Palomino is married and has five children and one dog.

Ms. Regan is employed through Charles Drew Health Center and has worked at Kellom Elementary since July 2012. She likes working at the SBHC because of the kids and the fact that she is “moved by the possibilities of expanding healthcare to the patients’ natural setting.” Her hobbies include camping, baking, running, biking, photography, and decorating her new house. Ms. Regan was born on 8/8/80 and turned 8 years old on 8/8/88. She says that “if you turn “8” sideways, it’s infinity (∞)!”

LaTasha Graham, CMA

Ms. Graham earned her Medical Assistant degrees at Vatterott College in Omaha, NE and Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE. She was employed by the Charles Drew Community Health Center in July 2012 and works at Kellom Elementary. She said this will be her first time working at a SBHC but is excited for this new experience. Her hobbies include spending time with her son, singing, dancing, drill team, church, and hanging out with friends and family. She states that “I am the only girl of 5 kids. Gabrielle Union is my distant cousin on my grandmother’s side.”

Ms. Black earned her Associates in Applied Science in Advanced Medical Assisting from Vatterott College in October 2010 and her Certified Medical Assistant degree in July 2011. She has been employed through the Charles Drew Community Health Center since May 2012 and currently works at King Science & Technology Magnet Middle School. Ms. Black says that she enjoys working at the SBHC because “I love helping children.” Her main hobby that she does while not at work is gardening.

Colleen Murphy, MSN, APRN, CPNP

Ms. Murphy earned a Registered Nursing degree from the St. Barnabus School of Nursing of the Metropolitan Medical Center in Minnesota in 1973.   She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1991 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 1996 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice Studies at Creighton University. Ms. Murphy has been certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1996. Ms. Murphy has been employed with OneWorld Community Health Centers in August 2010 and is currently working at Liberty Elementary. The reason she likes working with the SBHCs is because “I love working with children and adolescents, and this is a wonderful opportunity to offer services to enhance their lives and hopefully impact their future success.” Ms. Murphy was in the Peace Corps and was the Director of Nursing in a hospital and clinic in Colombia, South America. She has backpacked through 13 European countries. Her hobbies include singing, playing guitar, reading, and traveling.

Aracely Gallegos, CMA

Ms. Gallegos earned her Associates Degree from Kaplan University in July 2010. She has been certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants since September 2011. Ms. Gallegos has worked at OneWorld Community Health Centers since 2010 and Liberty Elementary since 2011. She says that the reason she likes working at the SBHCs is because “I enjoy working with children. I believe we serve children that otherwise would not get care because of transportation, insurance or language barriers. On the plus side, my grandchild goes to Liberty so I see him on a daily basis.” Ms. Gallegos loves to sing, especially doing karaoke, and spending time with her grandchildren by taking them to the park and movies.

Northwest High School

Debra Gartin, FNP, APRN

Ms. Gartin earned an Associate Degree of Science in Nursing (Registered Nurse) degree in May 1982 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1985 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in Omaha. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing in August 2009 at Clarkson College. She is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Gartin has been employed at the Charles Drew Health Center since January 2012 and has worked at Northwest High School since February 2012. She enjoys working as the SBHCs because “I love seeing the kids recover from an acute illness and stopping in later feeling well and sharing their recovery.” While not on the job, Ms. Gartin likes to do flower gardening and pond gardening and spend time with her 3 sons. A unique fact about Ms. Gartin is that she was an OPS school nurse for 6 years.

Ms. Black earned her Medical Assistant degree at Gateway College in Omaha, NE in 1996. She has been employed at Charles Drew Community Health Center since May 2012 and works at Northwest High School. The reason she most likes working at the SBHC is because of “the kids and the school staff.” Her hobbies include reading and shooting darts.

Spring Lake Elementary

Vicki Bangert, PA-C,MPAS

Ms. Bangert graduated Falls City High School in 1996 and earned her Bachelor of Science from Doane College in 2000. She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2006. Ms. Bangert is certified as a Physician Assistant with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She also was a Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute Scholar in 2011 and 2012. She is Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified. Ms. Bangert has been employed at OneWorld Community Health Centers since February 2007 and with the SBHCs since 2010. Ms. Bangert likes working at the SBHCs because it “gives me a chance to work with and know children and their families. I also enjoy getting to know more OPS staff. I also like the mission of the SBHC to focus on prevention and outreach to keep kids in school learning.” In 1998, Ms. Bangert studied abroad in Africa and was a Peace Corps volunteer from 2001 to 2003 in Ecuador, South America. She enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Stephanie Hall, PA-C, MPAS

 Ms. Hall earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Spanish from the College of St. Benedict and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her certifications though the American Heart Association include Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Ms. Hall has been employed at OneWorld Community Health Centers since February 2012 and works at Indian Hill. The reason why she likes working at the SBHCs is because she enjoys spending more time with youth, and when the parents come along, she feels it is a great opportunity for education with the luxury of time to do it as she cannot always do that on a busy clinic day. Her hobbies include cycling, gardening, running, knitting, and cooking. Ms. Hall says that “I am scuba certified and one of my rotations during PA school was on an island in the Caribbean. Although I didn’t go scuba diving a lot, I did get the opportunity to snorkel most days and explore a completely different world. That being said, I don’t think I’ll ever drink as much salt water as I did while trying to skim over the coral reef!”

Our Behavioral Health Staff

Joan Daughton, MD

Dr. Daughton earned her Doctorate of Medicine from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry, treating patients with a broad range of illnesses including mood, anxiety, behavioral and developmental disorders. She is also actively involved in resident education as well as psychopharmacology research. She is currently the Training Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and Acting Division Director for the UNMC Child Psychiatry Division. She has presented at national meetings and is also president of the Nebraska Regional Council of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her interests include community outreach, the adoption and foster care system, lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender health issues, and school-based health clinics.
Dr. Daughton sees patients at Poynter Hall, One World Community Health Clinic, and the UNMC Pediatrics Department. She also practices child psychiatry in three elementary schools in the Omaha Public School System as part of the school-based health clinics. Dr. Daughton has been involved in psychopharmacology clinical research studies since 2004.

Cheryl Blacketer, MSN,BSN

Mrs. Blacketer earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Methodist College of Nursing in 1989 and earned her Master’s in nursing from Walden University in 2004. Joining Charles Drew Health Center in January 2013 she is believes in the mission of the School-based Health Centers. She wants to promote student health and learning; promote a healthy school environment; provide leadership for the provision of health services, health policies and programs; and they serve as a liaison between school personnel, family, community, and health care providers is why I work for the SBHC. One fascinating fact about Ms. Blacketer is she is the proud mother of three sons in the United States Army. Each of whom has served and returned home from assignments in Afghanistan.

Sarah Miller, APRN, CPNP-PC

 Ms. Miller earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Creighton University in May 2000 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Creighton University in December 2001. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in May 2007. Ms. Miller is certified with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. Ms. Miller is the Assistant Medical Director at OneWorld Community Health Centers and has been employed there since 2002. She has also worked at Indian Hill, Liberty and Spring Lake SBHCs since 2010. The reason Ms. Miller likes working at the SBHCs is because she loves children. Her hobbies include spending time with family, sports and watching movies. An interesting fact about Ms. Miller is that she is “a proud mom of 2 kids, has an amazing husband, and is a die-hard baseball fan!”

Kimberly Lambrecht, RN

Ms. Lambrecht earned her RN from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE in 2009. She is currently enrolled in Wesleyan University’s BSN Program and will continue on to obtain her MSN. In 2008 Ms. Lambrecht joined One World Community Health Center. In 2009 she became the clinic manager of Cass Family Medicine. She joined the leadership team for School Based Health Centers in  June 2013. Kimberly’s husband is stationed at Offutt AFB and is serving in the US Air Force. Previously the Lambrecht family was stationed at Eielson AFB in Alaska.  Prior to becoming a nurse, Ms. Lambrecht worked as a certified optician for 7 years. She enjoys cycling, photography and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Our Outreach Staff

Alexandra Ortiz

Ms. Ortiz earned her Bachelor of Art in Interactive Media Design at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in Florida. She is a new employee of OneWorld Community Health Centers and she has worked at Indian Hill Elementary, Liberty Elementary, and Spring Lake Magnet Elementary since May 2012. Ms. Ortiz enjoys working at the SBHCs because she likes helping families get medical coverage for their children and making the process as easy as possible for them. Her hobbies include exercising, going to concerts and movies, reading, decorating, and doing arts and crafts. Ms. Ortiz “went to India for a wedding and took time to travel to Agra and visit the Taj Mahal. It was an amazing trip.”

Emily Sutton, Certified Social Worker

Ms. Sutton earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Creighton University in 2007. She has worked at OneWorld Community Centers for a total of 5 years. Ms. Sutton states that the reason she enjoys working at the SBHCs is because “I love coming up with new ways to reach out to the community and I believe in the great work that’s being done.” One fascinating fact about Ms. Sutton is that she has lived abroad and had her daughter in a public hospital abroad.
